Paul Guard

Paul V. Guard, 76 years old, went to be with the Lord at 2:45 p.m. on Monday, November 1, 2021 at home, surrounded by family. Paul was born on May 12, 1945 in Plymouth, IN to the late Rufus and Bertha (Woodcox) Guard. He has been a lifelong area resident. On May 17, 1969 in Bremen, Paul and Marlene (Huff) Guard were united in marriage. Paul is survived by his wife of 52 years, Marlene (Huff) Guard, their four children: Stephanie (Leonard) Fish of Bremen, Matthew (Pamela) Guard of Plymouth, Michele (Christopher) Markley of West Lafayette and Jonathan (Jennifer) Guard of North Liberty, and thirteen grandchildren: Logan, Samuel, Jacob, Caroline, Owen Fish; and Victoria and Tristan Guard; Anna, Emily, & Lucas Markley; Ethan, Andrew and Anna Guard. He is preceded in death by one grandchild, Samantha Markley. He is also survived by three siblings: Patricia (John) Musser of Chiefland, FL; Marilyn Sue McFadden of South Bend; Larry (Carolyn) Guard of Waynesville, NC and preceded in death by three brothers and one sister: Gerald, Edward, Devon and Doris. Paul attended Nappanee Missionary Church. He was a retired IBEW Local 153 Electrician. He was a 4-H leader and was involved in local Scouting for fifteen years. Paul enjoyed camping, travel, photography and woodworking. Visitation will be from 10:00-12:00 p.m. on Friday, November 5, 2021 in Mishler Funeral Home, 2030 St Rd 331, Bremen. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 pm with Rev. Jason Rohde officiating. Burial will take place in Bremen Cemetery.
