Rhidley D Edel

Rhidley D. Edel of Bremen, passed away at 6:40 am, Saturday, September 30, 2023 at the age of 70 from C.O.P.D. He was born on January 17, 1953 to Dale “Housie” and Berna (Weldy) Edel. Survivors include his wife, Sandy; sons, Housie (Angie) Edel of Bremen, Casey (Katie) Edel of South Bend and a daughter, Gina (Fred) Matthews of Bremen; two granddaughters, Gwendolyn Matthews of Bremen and Holland Edel of South Bend and a new grandchild coming in March of 2024 for Casey and Katie. He is also survived by step grandchildren, Kyle, Wyatt, Garrett and Brianna Pollard and Genesis and Caden Matthews, all of Bremen. Other survivors include a brother, Paul (Cindy) Edel of Bourbon and sisters in law, Ellie Hardy of Mishawaka and Gail Hardy of Bremen. He is preceded in death by his parents, Housie and Berna Edel, brothers, Melvin, Owen and Keith Hardy and a sister, Valeria Laudeman. A big thank you to hospice, especially nurse Jodie, Pastor Wyatt and social worker, Sara “You may not be the best, but there are none any better” according to Rhidley. Cremation has taken place and no services are planned; the family wishes to grieve in private.
