Robert Fox

February 10, 1929 — January 29, 2021

Robert Dale Fox, 91, of Bremen, passed away peacefully at home the morning of January 29, 2021. He was born on February 10, 1929 in Saint Joseph County, IN, the son of the late Earl & Ethel (Potts) Fox. He graduated from Madison Township High School. On November 4, 1950, he married Joan Mae Hepler who preceded him in death on October 27, 2020. Robert served in the US Army with the 4th Engineering Battalion from January, 1952 until his honorable discharge in December, 1953, achieving the rank of corporal and building bridges in post-war Europe. Bob worked in sales for Universal Bearings in Bremen for 27 years until his retirement in 1993. He spent many years as an ambassador for the company and for Bremen, spreading friendship and sharing bags of Lehman’s mints as he traveled throughout the Midwest and Northeast. Bob’s greatest achievement and biggest blessing was his family. He will be greatly missed by his children Debra (David) Burcham, Chris (Susan) Fox, Steven (Joanna) Fox, and Julie (Dan) Fox. He remained engaged and connected in the lives of his grandchildren and their families until his death and was so proud to see them all grow into adulthood: Jason (Sarah), Martin (Stephanie), Michael (Christina), Patrick (Kellie), Andrew (Kiyoko), Melissa (Jeffrey), Arizona (Noor), Megan (Sean), Matthew (Jasmine), Makayla, Garrett, and Ellen. He is also survived by his 16 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. His brother, Charles “Chuck” Fox, preceded him in death on January 7, 2021. Robert’s life was best described by his great-grandson, Tyler, who wrote: My Great Grandpa Fox; very talkative, likes farming, likes to go places, has very good advice, he likes to see what you’re doing, likes having parties, misses my great ‘grama’, loves to play games. The family would like to express their deep appreciation to the staff of Senior1 Care and Heart to Heart Hospice for the care they provided during his illness, and to Pastor Neil Wonnacott of St Paul’s Lutheran Church for his faithful visitation. We are comforted in knowing that he joins Joan in heaven and rests in the arms of his Savior. There will be a private family memorial service on February 6, 2021. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St Paul’s Lutheran Church 605 S Center St, Bremen, IN 46506.
