Robert M.Horvath, age 74, passed away at his residence in Plymouth, IN on Oct. 7, 2025 after a courageous battle with cancer. Bob was born in South Bend on Nov. 29, 1950 to Frances and Steve M. Horvath.
He was preceded in death by his father, his great grandson, Camden and his two best friends, his dog Gus and his horse Reb. Bob graduated from Jackson high school in 1969. He entered the Army in 1971 and trained with the 101st Airborne, after which he received his associates degree in business. He worked as the maintenance supervisor at RBC in Bremen and earned the respect of many with his knowledge and work ethic.
Bob was an amazing man, giving and loving and helpful in any way he could to all he knew. He taught his kids and his grandkids to be honest and hard-working and loved nothing more than to ride his tractor and sit on the porch enjoying his life with his loving wife. Bob loved fixing up the “old truck” and proudly driving it to town. He enjoyed trail riding with his other best friend, Randy, and traveling after retirement.
He is survived by his wife Phyllis Horvath, his mother, Frances Horvath, his brother Stephen Horvath, children David (Helen) Horvath, Michael (Richelle) Horvath, Rebecca (Jason) Belt, stepdaughters Shannon Buckland and Melanie (Chad) Hoefle, 10 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren on the way. He also left behind many other family members and friends to cherish his memory, through joyful experiences and special times.
A celebration of Life will be held at Lakeville Conservation Club on Monday Oct. 20 from 4-6 PM. Interment will be held at a later date.
