Robert Young, Sr

Robert Young, Sr., 91, a 55 year Bremen resident, passed away 11:05 pm, Wednesday, March 2, 2022 in Community Hospital of Bremen. Robert was born on July 12, 1930 to the late Simeon and Caroline (Harvey) Young. On September 24, 1960, he married the former Olga Prater and they were married for 42 years until her death on December 29, 2002. Robert retired from Brown Molasses in 1993. Robert is survived by sons Robert (Kathy) Young, Jr. and Charles Young, both of Bremen; daughter, Tami (David) Staub of Evansville; grandchildren, Andrew (Kayla) Benson and Amanda Benson, both of Evansville, Alex (Paige) Staub of Indianapolis, Kyle Benson of Plymouth, Kim (Shawn) Bicek of Elkhart and Rebecca Young of Ft. Wayne; great grandchildren, Aubree and Cooper Bicek and Layla and Harper Benson. He is also survived by brothers, Sim (Gail) Young, Lowell (Mabel) Young and Paul (Patty) Young; sisters, Hazel Howard, Lillie Shepherd and Dorothy Hardin. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, son; Michael; daughter, Michelle; brothers, Jessie, Homer and Willie and sisters, Mazel Combs, Helen Faye Fugate, Arizona Noble and Bessie Young. Bob will be painfully missed by his family and friends in Indiana, as well as in Kentucky. Per his wishes, cremation will take place and no viewing. Mishler Funeral Home, 2030 St Rd 331, Bremen is handling arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family would like memorial contributions to be made to Riley’s Children Foundation, 30 S.
