Ronald LaMar Sherk, 78, of Plymouth, passed away peacefully in his home on Monday, September 3, 2018. Ron was born on January 5, 1940 in Bremen, the son of the late Paul and Violet (McGowen) Sherk. On February 26, 1961, he married Sue Zehner. She passed away on November 11, 2016. Ron is survived by three children, Brenda (Carroll) Baker of Plymouth, Bruce (Carol) Sherk of North Liberty, and Brad (Brandy) Sherk of Plymouth; eight grandchildren, Michael (Lori) Baker, Matthew (Ami) Baker, Austin (Kim) Baker, Adam Baker, Laura (Timmy) Werntz, Nicholas Sherk, Lucy Sherk, and Sam Sherk; and six great grandchildren. He is also survived by siblings, Geneva Abbiehl of Mishawaka, William Sherk of Bremen, Lester Sherk of Mishawaka, and Shirley Stine of Bremen. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, and siblings, Tubby Sherk and Maxine Basley. Ron was a member of the Lakeville United Methodist Church. He enjoyed traveling and flying and was part of the Experimental Aircraft Association (E.A.A.) and the Tri-State Gas Engine Club. He loved his family and will be dearly missed. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 pm, Wednesday, September 5, 2018 in Mishler Funeral Home, 2030 St. Rd. 331, Bremen. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, September 6, 2018 in the funeral home. Rev. Brian White will officiate. Burial will follow in Bremen Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to be made to the Lakeville United Methodist Church, 610 N. Michigan St., Lakeville, IN 46536.
