Ruth M. Haag, 96, of Bremen, passed away at 8:55 am, Tuesday, May 19, 2026 in Signature Health Care of Bremen. Ruth was born on September 8, 1929, in Madison Township to Ralph and Myrtle (Fritz) Flory. On December 20, 1951, she married Floyd Haag. He passed away on August 23, 2015. She is survived by three children: Alice K. Haag of Elkhart, Betty L. (Paul) Fox of Bremen, Mike Haag of Bremen; four grandchildren, Jason (Jessica) Fox, Jonathan (Crystal) Fox, Jared (Rebecca) Fox, and Vincent Hamlin; and 14 great grandchildren and one great grandchild. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband and a daughter: Crystal Merrick. Ruth attended Madison Twp High School and graduated as a Valedictorian of her class. She also graduated from Ball State University and St. Mary’s College. Following her education, she taught school. She was proud of her efforts to get Kindergarten programs initiated. She taught in New Carlisle, Bremen, Lakeville and primarily at Madison Twp Elementary School. She was an avid reader and pen pal to friends as far away as California. She sold World Book Encyclopedia and was a lifelong learner. Ruth had a strong faith and lived a busy farm life with her husband, Floyd. She was known for her gardening skills and passed that passion to her son, Mike. Teaching both elementary school and Sunday school utilized her education. She also supported many charitable organizations and was known for her kind heart. She enjoyed spending summer vacations with family and friends at Potato Creek State Park. In their family cabins. Ruth enjoyed bus trips and a special trip to Billy Graham Library in Charlotte, NC. Billy was a lifelong inspiration to her. She will be remembered for her strong faith, sense of fun and the many games of aggravation that she won. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:30 pm, Tuesday, May 26, 2026 in Bremen Missionary Church, 2958 Elm Rd., Bremen. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, May 27, 2026 in the church with one hour of visitation prior. Pastor Kurt Litwiller will officiate. Burial will follow in Bremen Cemetery. If you have any Snoopy or Peanuts attire, feel free to honor her by wearing it at her service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions may be to: Bremen Missionary Church or World Missionary Press, 19168 Co Rd 146, New Paris, IN 46553.
