Steven Lloyd Turpin, 72, of Bremen, passed away at 8:58 pm, Friday, July 28, 2023 in his home surrounded by family. Steve was born on May 13, 1951 in Gary to Charles and Rosalie (Akers) Turpin. On June 28, 1980, he married Beth Ann Windbigler. He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Beth Ann; three children, Charles Turpin of Bremen, Heather Turpin of South Bend, Matthew (Kayla) Turpin and granddaughter, Maila Turpin of Dunlap; and adopted son, Ricky (Ashley) Sumpter of Bremen. He is also survived by his father, Charles (Betty) Turpin of Estero, FL; two brothers, Rick (Sue) Turpin of Bremen and Tim (Laura) Turpin of Cedar Lake, IN, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his mother; paternal grandparents, Archie (Mary) Turpin, maternal grandparents, Edward (Bertha) Akers and step grandparents, Robert (Lillian) Boling. He is a member of St. Dominic Catholic Church of Bremen. Steve loved to watch the Chicago Bears and Cubs and his hobbies included camping, fishing and time spent at the lake with family and friends. Visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00 pm, Wednesday, August 2, 2023 in St. Dominic Catholic Church, 801 W. Bike St., Bremen, IN 46506. A rosary will be recited at 7:30 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, August 3, 2023 in St. Dominic Catholic Church with one hour of visitation prior. Cremation will follow and his ashes will be laid to rest in Calumet Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions to be made St. Dominic Catholic Church or American Cancer Society
