Thelma Adams

Thelma Bernetta Adams, 96, of Lake Placid, FL, formerly of Bremen, passed away at 8:53 am, Friday, October 27, 2017 in her home. She was born in Rochester,  NY on March 1, 1921 to Alice and Peter Schuler. She married Robert Adams, Sr. on April 25, 1944, raising a family of 9 with him until his passing May 24, 2004. Thelma lived a challenging and full life raising a family of nine, working many jobs, helping with church and school activities and finding time to enjoy her passion for playing bridge. She was always there to support and encourage through good times and bad. A loving person with humor, wisdom and compassion. We remember her as the best of our best memories; laughing, teaching, learning, playing cards (an avid and skilled bridge player), golf, baseball, volleyball, dancing or walking. A treasure to have known and to have lived life with. She is survived by her children, Robert (Elaine) Adams of Mill Creek, WA, Sharon & Clark Fritton of Ludington, MI, Richard Adams of Syracuse, IN, Roy (Donna) Adams of Milan, IN, Robin (Gayle) Adams of Bremen, Kathleen Adams of Lake Placid, FL, Roger Adams of Mill Creek, WA, and Alice (Gary) Miller of Bourbon, IN; her sister, Norma Young and fifteen grandchildren, Jeffery, Michael, Darin, Joel, Joseph, Jason, Jennifer, Brian, Elizabeth, Nicholas, Samantha, Erica, Christine, Thomas, Darren and thirteen great grandchildren. Thelma was preceded in death by her husband Robert Sr, her son Randy, parents, and two brothers, Howard and Chester. Visitation will be held from 10:00-11:30 am, Friday, November 3, 2017 in St. Dominic Catholic Church, 803 W. Bike St., Bremen. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:30 am in the church with burial in Bremen Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial be made to St. Jude Children Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
