Veronica was one of twelve children (think cheaper by the dozen) and one of the youngest members of the Kunz Family. She grew up in Chicago, IL surrounded by a loving, caring family. All of her nieces and nephews were drawn to Veronica – also know as Aunt Via – as she and her husband Bill were often the life of the Kunz family gatherings which occurred for most major holidays. Most of the Kunz family members were musically talented, which more than entertained all of us as children. Veronica had a beautiful voice which will be missed by all of us who loved her! Veronica and Bill spent many years during World War 2 entertaining soldiers with their joyous voices and guitars. They were able to sing almost any song that the soldiers requested. Veronica often said those were the best days of her life because their music gave the soldiers a reason to smile, to sing, and to applaud the efforts of these war heroes. When Veronica and Bill moved to Bremen, we were all thrilled to have them only a short walk away from our original home on Stock Street. It did not take them long to adjust to the calmer life of Bremen. Veronica had a beautiful voice which will be missed by all of us who loved her! She was gentle and kind and enjoyed entertaining others during her time at SHC Bremen. Some have mentioned that she was the life of the party – and she was for her many years there. Her dear friends, Jenny and Jim Smith often traveled to spend time with Veronica. Their close relationships were a true gift from heaven. Our Darling Aunt Veronica will be missed.
