Wayne Manges

Wayne A. Manges , 96, passed away on December 25, 2018 at 2:07 pm, in Signature Healthcare of Bremen. Wayne was born on August 16, 1922 in Bremen on the family rental farm west of town, to the late Dillman and Minna (Schutz) Manges, who were very best parents in the world. He worked at Kingsbury Ordinance Plant and then went to serve in the Army from October 1942 until January 1946. While serving in the Army, Wayne was in Japan during the occupation. Upon returning to the United States in January of 1946 Wayne met and married Ethel M. Mast on November 9, 1946 by his uncle Rev. Warren Manges. Ethel preceded Wayne in death in 1993. Wayne began working at the Bremen foundry for 38 years were he retired in 1984. He also ran a shoe repair business out of his garage for many years. Surviving Wayne and Ethel are their three children Marcia (Dan) Shaw, Karen (Bob) Kiefer, and Wayne Jr (Sue) Manges. Also surviving is his wife Dorothy (Metz) Manges, who he married on September 22, 1994, one brother Burton Manges, four step-children Judy Richards, Jim, Garry, and Tom Metz, six grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, one great great granddaughter, and many step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren. Preceding Wayne in death are his parents, three brothers Dean, Evan and Don Manges, three sisters, Carole Koontz, Lorraine Leazenby, and Leona Holdread. Visitation will be held from 1:00-2:00 pm, Saturday , December 29, 2018 in Mishler Funeral Home, 2030 St. Rd. 331, Bremen. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 pm in the funeral home. Burial will take place in Bremen Cemetery. Wayne attended Grace Fellowship Church for many years. In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorial contributions to Grace Fellowship Church, 535 S.
