William “Skip” Sherk, Jr., 65, of Bremen passed away unexpectedly on April 6, 2021. He was born on October 27, 1955 to Bill and Dorothy (McGowen) Sherk. He attended Bremen Public schools, where he met his wife of 39 years, Nancy (Mattern) Sherk. He worked at Universal Bearings in Bremen for 44 years and made a great many friends there. Skip loved photography and had an artist eye for beauty. Nancy served as his wing man and accompanied him on his photo adventures. He also enjoyed watching NASCAR races and was very glad when March Madness returned. Skip had a kind heart and good sense of humor. He “never met a stranger” and enjoyed talking to people, whether in a restaurant line or waiting room. He had an honest and genuine interest in people and will be sorely missed. He is survived by his wife, Nancy; his father, William Sherk; his sister, Debbie (Jim) Buchtel and sister in law, Tammie Sherk. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Marc (Danielle) Buchtel, April Buchtel, Troy (Lizziey) Sherk and Alison Sherk and great nieces and nephews, Allen, Hailey, Malachi, Clare, Klowey, Aaden, Paytyn, Calvin and Finn. He is preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy and brother, Michael. Skip firmly believed he would meet them again in heaven. There will be a private family service at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations in his name be made to the charity of choice.
