Herman Richard “Dick” Kendall

Dick Kendall, 83, passed away on Tuesday February 22, 2022 at home in Bremen, Indiana surrounded by his loving family. Born to Herman G. Kendall and Marjorie R. (Leland) on March 30, 1938 in Niles, Michigan. He graduated from John Adams High School and worked at the South Bend Tribune as a printer for 43 years. Dick was a long-time member of Community Gospel Church in Bremen, Indiana. He enjoyed playing golf, woodworking, riding his motorcycle, and driving his ‘63 Valiant convertible. Dick also loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Dick married Betty (Yoder) Borntrager on August 12, 1972 at Trinity Church in Lakeville, Indiana. He was a loving husband and father to their four children. Two sons - Orvin (Andrea) Kendall of Cambridge, Wisconsin, Rich (Amy) Kendall of Bremen, Indiana. Two daughters - Lynette (Rick) George of Bremen, Indiana and Lana (Ron) Zeltwanger of Mishawaka, Indiana. 10 grandchildren - Avery, Caleb, Elizabeth Kendall; Becca Kendall; Amanda (Jason) Jamerson, Steven (Brittany) and Sara Krieger; Rob (Carly) Zeltwanger, Renee (Josh) Miracle, Eric (Katie) Zeltwanger. Also 8 great grandchildren - Kaiden and Khloe Krieger; Anna, Wesley, and Addison Zeltwanger; Myles and Brock Miracle; and Samuel Zeltwanger. He is survived by a brother Lawson (Shiling) Kendall and Margaret (Armos) Peterson, both reside in California. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers David and George Kendall, and sister Norma Jean Kenfield. Visitation and Funeral Services will be held at Mishler Funeral Home, 2030 State Road 331, Bremen, Indiana. Family and friends will gather for visitation on Friday evening February 25, 2022 from 4-8 p.m. The funeral will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday February 26, 2022. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Missions fund at Community Gospel Church.
