Paul Edward Reed, 96, a lifetime resident of Bremen, passed away at 9:59 am, Friday, April 15, 2022. Paul was born on June 2, 1925, the son of Emery and Olive (Musser) Reed. On September 27, 1946, he married Helen M. Weil. She passed away on February 20, 2011. Paul is survived by three children; Shirlee Barnard, Randy (Thelma) Reed and Jan (Steve) Nelson, all of Bremen; six grandchildren, Sherry Kasprzak, Susie Muszynski, Tim Nelson, Jen Berger, Steve Nelson and Brad Nelson; 10 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. He is also survived by four siblings, Ruth Monesmith of Bourbon, Barbara Miller of Bremen, Donald Reed of Bremen and Kathryn Troxel of Nappanee. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife and three siblings, Howard Reed, Harold Reed, Sr. and Helen Smith. At the time of his passing, he was the oldest member of the Bremen Church of the Brethren and the oldest farmer in Madison Township. He was a charter member of the Bremen FFA, where he was elected as the first Vice President. He loved spending time with family, playing Bingo, bowling, gardening and reading the local newspapers and farming. Paul was a proud supporter of 4-H, a Purdue Boilermaker fan and enjoyed watching college basketball. He will be remembered for drinking Root Beer, eating bugles, homemade ice cream and Dove dark chocolate candy. Visitation will be held from 2:00-8:00 pm, Wednesday, April 20, 2022 in Bremen Church of the Brethren, 921 Woodies Lane, Bremen. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, April 21, 2022 in the church with one hour of visitation prior. Pastor Evan Garber will officiate and burial will take place in the Bremen Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions to be made to the Bremen Church of the Brethren or the Bremen FFA.
