Ralph Young

Ralph Eugene Young, 73, of Lapaz passed away at 2:03 pm, Sunday, April 4, 2021 in St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Plymouth. Ralph was born on June 15, 1947 in Bremen to Harold and Waneta (Parcell) Young. He is survived by wife, Mary; three children, Jeff (Tracy) Young of Bourbon, Ryan (Debbie) Young of LaPaz and Corie (John) Edington of LaPaz; nine grandchildren, Haley Flory, Paige Young, Gage Sampson, Taylor Edington, Abbigal Applegate, Zoey Applegate, Erica Edington, Mason Ousley and Rob Chilton and one great grandson, Wyatt Thompson. He is also survived by six sisters, Carol (Keenan) Wynn of South Bend, Mary Nethercutt of Plymouth, Karen (Roy) Bowling of Plymouth, Nancy Morris of Mishawaka, Patty (Ron) Eutsey of Shipshewana and Jessie (Greg) Whaley of Elkhart and three brothers, Clifford (Jacque) Young of Plymouth, Donald (Jenny) Young of LaPaz and Richard Nusbaum of Elkhart and a brother in law, Lowel Price. He is preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Donna Price and Betty Bowling; a brother, Roger Young and three brother in laws, Clifford Bowling, Clayton Bowling, Jr. and Eric Morris. Ralph graduated from Bremen High School and was a member of the football team. He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army in 1966 and was a member of the LaPaz American Legion and the LaPaz 40/8. He will be remembered for his love of fishing, woodworking, gardening and collecting birdhouses. Most of all, he loved his grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 10:00-12:00 pm, Friday, April 9, 2021 in Mishler Funeral Home, 2030 St Rd 331, Bremen. Funeral services will immediately follow at 12:00 pm in the funeral home. Pastor Steve Cox will officiate. Burial will take place in Woodlawn Cemetery, Walkerton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family to help with funeral expenses.
